Review The Mythrian Realm Series by Lindsay Avalon (Book 1-2)

Throughout history, myths and legends of extraordinary creatures have been told and retold. Fantastic tales of demons and banshees, gryphons and dragons, and of course, magic. Stories that every child grows to learn are nothing more than fantasy…or are they?

Beyond the world you see lies a hidden realm, the Mythrian Realm, inhabited by all of the creatures you’ve been told are mere fiction. Only one thing lies between humans and the truth: the Nexus. A magical barrier erected millennia ago to separate the two realms, it has stood the test of time. Until now.

For Mythrian Sha Phoenix, magic is nothing new. But when she stumbles upon a portal on the verge of collapse, her fate will forever change. Pulled through the portal into the Human Realm, she lands in the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s brutal murder scene. Soon it is obvious someone is using blood magic to try to bring down the Nexus. Together, Connor and Sha must work to unravel the secrets before the barrier falls and the realms collide.

The Nexus is breaking and all hell is about to unleash…literally.

*** Warning this book contains two graphic sex scenes featuring a sexy detective ***

Breaking the Nexus (Book one)
My Thoughts & Review

Cover: Hot! Both realms merging is as same in the book.
Genre(s): Adult fantasy, urban fantasy, New Adult, romance, keyword ADULT
Fast paced short read

I'm in the middle of rating this book for a review. This book was not a favor in my reading BUT I do think many others may like the story the author created. It has to be, there are many fans of this book and the ratings are pretty high, got to mean something.

WARNING! Heavy scenes in this book for adult readers
This happens to be one of the reasons me and this book didn't see eye to eye! One of my number one irks in a book is unrealistic in the sheets scenes! I can't stand when the chic has multiple satisfaction back to back and every touch is the BEST in this world, never before happened, compulsion touch... It doesn't work for me.

In this book not only is there instant love but another man who has the touch of pure bliss.

HOWEVER, I still think there's readers out there that may dig that sort of thing 0_o

I was bit disappointed that the blurb did not match the story in book one. I was looking forward to the 'Demons'...'Dragons'...a world of fantasy creatures...didn't happen.

Sha is from Mythrian, she is some type of soceri. While on patrol, she falls into the human world into a crime scene where the main man and detective Connor is in charge of. Instant attraction between the two while they try to figure out why bodies are showing up dead and possibly be caused by creatures from Mythrian realm.

It is a quick read about 200 pages with a cliffhanger!

This book takes place the majority, mostly entirely, in the human realm. The second book actually will be in Mythrian Realm which I look forward to reading,

As two Realms collide, the world descends into chaos.

From the moment Sha Phoenix dropped into the middle of Detective Connor Flynn’s murder scene, he had known his life would never be the same. Following her claim to be a Sorceri from the Mythrian Realm, he had received a crash course in the impossible as they had struggled to stop a madman. Unfortunately, despite their efforts to stop the Nexus, a magical barrier separating the Mythrian and Human Realms, fractured. Magic and myth are spilling over into the Human Realm, plunging everything into turmoil.

Is their love strong enough to survive the flames of the phoenix?

When Sha vanished through a portal in the middle of battle, Connor did not hesitate to follow the woman he had claimed as his. Now in the Mythrian Realm, they join forces with the Sentinels, the guardians of the Realms, to protect the world they love. Will they be able to contain the evil taking control? Or will they perish in the flames of war?

Waking the Phoenix (Book 2)

My Thoughts and Review
The action picks up in this one!

We are now in Mythrian Realm! Shifters, elfs, battles, and new characters (if you haven't read 1.5 Warrior Unleashed Novella, might want to read that one first for a back story!) Book two is more upbeat in tempo with double the action and throwing in the fantasy world with many creatures. There's still heavy scenes for adult readers!

I don't think this is the end of the series. The ending did leave room for another potential book.
