Review Sea of Stars by Amy A Bartol (Book two - Kricket series)

Eighteen-year-old Kricket Hollowell was looking for her place in the world when she discovered that the universe was bigger—and more dangerous—than she had ever dreamed. Now, whisked across space to the planet Ethar, Kricket learns that her genetic ability to see the future makes her a sought-after commodity…and the catalyst for war between her star-crossed parents’ clans. According to Alameedan prophecy, one house will rise to power and the other will be completely wiped out, and Kricket’s precognition is believed to be the weapon that will tip the scales.

A target of both the Rafe and the Alameeda houses, Kricket finds protection—and a home—in the arms of Trey, her Etharian bodyguard-turned-boyfriend. But her visions of what’s to come disturb her deeply, especially since she must discover whether the gift of foresight will allow her to rewrite the future, or if her fate is as immovable as the stars.

My Review & Thoughts
Cover: Beautiful peek to whats to come to the leading lady Kricket. I also love when Authors stick with the same theme for their series!
Genre(s): Sci Fi, Urban Fantasy, maybe New Adult
Tag(s): Action, Priestess, New World, Alpha(s), Hot, Love
Romance: Surprising readers with a dip into the 'steamy' side of love!

Sea of Stars took me on an exhilarated futuristic ride throwing in emotions of love, anger, and hope.

Imagine a mix of movies, The Fifth Element, Total Recall, with colors and creatures of Avatar in its own originality, written beautifully vivid...that's all in the Sea of Stars! Sci Fi lovers this is a must read! I was excited  SUPER thrilled, doing the jig when I received an advance copy of one of my favorite Authors! I wanted to hide myself in a dark corner and indulge into this book all night BUT realistically I couldn't (hubby and my little one wouldn't appreciate that-bwahhah).

"If Kyon brings you back here, I will kill you," she promises. "Run, Little Kricekt. Run far away."

It took me a few days to take this book all in. The writing is vividly drawn out that I had to take breaks and think it all over again...Mrs Amy A Bartol dived in vastly improving her writing and tampering into the naughty side of romance. It was all done tastefully attractive and subtly simple.
"Show me what it feels like to be yours." -Kricket

Fans of this series will not be disappointed with the time the Author put into it, clearly shows with all the details and twining plot lines. So much is happening in this one itty book!

Kricket I’ve always been in a jam with her since book one. I do think she has so much potential for being a heroine that many can love but she is stuck. Hung up on her ‘bad-ass’ past and gushing about Trey’s perfect body! None the less, Kricket shows her snarky

What I loved about this book:
->>The action and adventure that Kricket takes us on. She goes through borderline death defining  obstacles.
->>Trey does not disappoint with his rugged, demanding demeanor
->>Kyon my poor villain! As I mentioned in previous reviews, I have a soft spot for my 'bad-guys'! (cough-cough Brennus) He definitely has some surprises in this installment.
"Kricket! If you make me chase you again, I will kill him!" -Kyon

"Don't make me fall in love with you, priestess."

Now here it comes...the drawn out wait time for the next book! WHY!! Of course, as always I will be looking out  stalking the Authors pages for updates. I should have none I was going to be left

Whats the first thing I do after I finish Sea of Stars (other than cursing the author) look for anticipated date of book three.

Must read book one Under Different Stars to understand book two.
Huge, TREMENDOUS cliffhanger
Highly Recommended! Sci Fi buffs Must Read!
Thank you NetGalley for ARC for a honest review.

Mini Excerpt
"Sorry to disappoint you. I'll be the one communicating with you while you're with the Alameeda."
I scoff at that. The arrogance! "Keep dreaming. I'm never speaking to you again, lost boy. This is it for us. You should say good-bye now."
He growls, "You should stop thinking of just yourself! There are people counting on us not to fail, you ignorant child!"
"You must be my fathers favorite," I retort, like that's a bad thing.
"I am," he agrees with pride.
"Well, I'm the one he threw away, so I don't think I owe you, or him, or anyone else anything."

Review Forsworn by Emily Wibberley (The Last Oracle Series)

Clio can see the future, but what she doesn’t know about her past could destroy her.

It’s been a year since Clio made her sacrifice to the Deities and embraced her destiny as the Oracle to save her people.

The only family she has left is a brother who wants her dead.

The prince, her oldest friend, is a king with his own agenda.

And the man who once loved her, now hates her.

All she can do is try to forget about Riece, the enemy commander whose heart she broke to save his life, as she serves the Deities. Her days are filled with Visions and bloodshed in a never-ending war against the Untouched. To add to her problems, she must pose as King Derik’s mistress to conceal her forbidden powers from the Emperor’s spies.

When Riece unexpectedly returns to Sheehan with a new and beautiful ally, Clio knows she must put him out of her mind once and for all, but first, they are thrust together into battle against a mysterious Untouched warrior with otherworldly power. To reclaim her city, she must team up with the man she hurt, the man she still loves but can never be with, and finally confront the questions about her origin—questions with answers that Clio may not be prepared to face.

My Review and Thoughts

"Sometimes I look at you, and I still see my Clio. But I have to remind myself                                                     that she was never real -only made up of your lies."

Lets take a moment to appreciate that cover!!! Love the badass chic warrior on it and it sure does represent Clio, our leading lady to the fullest in this story!

Now, this is one of my favorite series of 2015 from the debut Author Emily Wibberley. I was honored to receive book two for my honest review. (Thank you!) If you haven't read book one here is my review Here

Clio's story continues in book two. She is now the Oracle, a wanted person for sacrificing in the city of Morek and is the mistress/advisory/Warrior to King Derik. Riece has become Commander of his city once again, Morek, and is on his own mission - away from Clio. (Book one Clio left Riece - tragic)

"The Untouched follow me, but as you've no doubt noticed by my remarkable powers of articulation. I am not one of them. My name is Daizon."

The Untouch still reek havoc in their cities but this time it is with the aid of a Diety. Clio is branded by an unknown mark, threatening her visions. Before she knows it, it is to late and the city is no longer protected. Seeking the help of Riece, Clio is determined to avenge her city. BUT it is not that easy with an almighty Dieties threatening her way, hiding from the Emperor, AND putting up with Riece's betrothed. (Yes I said it!! <-- be ready ladies)

"And now we'll die together, executed side by side on the pyramid where we first met. I suppose the ending is rather fitting."

Why I still LOVE this series:

-The action is non stop! It's always moving and throwing in different obstacles making this story a quick one to read. The twist that Ms Wibberley threw in here - building up for book three is pretty epic. I can't wait to see what the future has for Clio.

-It leaves lasting thoughts. You know some books that you think about after their done with about a week ago and still thinking of them? That is this story!

-Riece and Clio's chemistry is one of my favorites to read. I love Riece! He is still the wise ass, over protective warrior. I must admit, I wanted to strangle him the first half of the story but he came back around. If you want a swoon worthy character - look no further, Riece is everything!

"Riece sat up, rubbing his neck where her blade had been. "Maybe you should, I don't know, look before you tear someone's throat out?"

-Clio! Clio comes out with full vengeance in this book. She is no longer frail or soft. NO. Dressed in armor, daggers, and has a three vessels that are just as fierce as she is, Clio is entertaining and taking names.

-It's not a cliche of Fantasy! It's in its own world with re-freshen characters. If you like kick ass females -  this is the book for you!

"The Oracle must pair with a Deity. He gives her more children capable of bearing Sight."

Cliffhanger Warning - There is a book three in the works!!
Highly recommended read
